Uttarakhand CM rolls out a scheme to help children orphaned due to Covid-19.

Uttarakhand Government has decided to roll out new scheme named, ‘Chief Minister Vatsalya Yojana’. Under this scheme, the government has decided to take responsibility of children who have unluckily lost their parents or the sole earning member of the family due to Covid-19 infection. The CM has directed the authorities to compile a list of such children at the earliest. The government would make arrangements for the education and training of these kids till they attain the age of 21 years.
The provisions of the scheme grants these children a sum of Rs 3000 every month. The scheme also discards the right to sell the ancestral property of such kids till the child turns adult or become employed and hands this responsibility to the respective District Magistrates of the state to take decision. Such kids will also be provided a horizontal reservation of 5% in Uttarakhand Government Jobs.
In a meeting on Saturday, CM Tirath Singh Rawat has also directed officials to remain prepared for third wave and lay a close emphasis towards betterment of the health of children.
He laid stress to maintain a detailed record at block and district levels to keep a check on the health status of children.
