According to the latest report released by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall with intense thundershower accompanied with lightning to occur at
isolated places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Tehri, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh, districts
of Uttarakhand.
Heavy rainfall accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Pauri and
Champawat districts of Uttarakhand. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in these districts. The Meteorological Department has told the need to take all precautionary measures in view of natural calamities like landslides.
There is also a need to caution people living on the banks of rivers and streams and move them to safer places. Due to heavy rainfall, there is a possibility of heavy water flow in the rivers in some areas along with landslides in sensitive areas. According to the report of the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature recorded in Dehradun on Saturday was 33.2 degrees and the minimum temperature was 26.2 degrees.
